| GOT CLUTTER?
TRY A DE-CLUTTERING SUPPORT GROUP Change your life with support from others in the same situation.
If you think you are the only one facing this problem today – you are wrong! A de-cluttering support group offers you the chance to change your life with support from others in the same situation. There’s nothing like talking with people who know exactly what you’re going through. Just like losing weight, or stopping any other addictive behavior, getting support from others in the same predicament can often be the best way to make a difference in your life. You have the feeling of knowing you are not alone with your struggle. Support groups provide a compassionate social support network for individuals who share a common set of problems and symptoms. CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVACY All participants are asked to be considerate of the privacy of members. This means NOT discussing fellow members, in any way, with others outside of the meetings. This includes discussing the details of the members’ lives and what was said at the meeting. Members are encouraged to keep the focus of their sharing on their own challenges and the changes they want to make in their own life. Please keep your opinions or judgments about other members to yourself. The meetings focus on positive progress to achieve goals. The group welcomes short expressions of kindness and compassion to other members of the group. ATTENDANCE The success of this group will depend on member attendance and participation to create an environment of security and growth. NOT THERAPY This group is a not a therapy group. This is not to say participants can’t talk about things from their past, have a discussion and then look for connections in their current situation. The facilitator (S.O.S.) is not a therapist but is a Certified Professional Organizer (CPO® and CPO -CD®). AFFILIATION This group is not affiliated with any public or private organization, political movement or religious assembly. The church allows the group to meet there at no charge, but they are not sponsoring this meeting in any way. Political or religious discussions are not brought into the meetings. PURPOSE This group will provide you with an opportunity to identify with others who have the same problems. You are not along with your cluttering issues. There will be unconditional acceptance and support for each of you. The purpose of this group is to provide support for anyone struggling with disorganization and clutter. The only requirement to join is the desire to stop or change the patterns that you’ve developed and make encouraging adjustments. This should be a place we can share resources and offer suggestions to others in a non-judgmental environment. We are all different and each of you has your own definition of clutter. You may have a wonderful suggestion for someone struggling with a problem that you have just solved in your own life. So please be willing to share your hints and suggestions with others. Please be open minded. There are no rules, just suggestions. If you are drowning in stuff and it’s affecting your life in adverse ways and you are overwhelmed, frustrated and don’t know where to start – check into visiting the De-Cluttering Support Group. I have seen what clutter and disorganization can do to people’s lives – depression, anxiety, embarrassment, frustration, stress - plus many other health issues as well as financial issues. My own opinion is that dealing with your clutter is 90% emotional and psychological and 10% physically doing the work. Call 919-345-2846 for further information on the De-Cluttering Support Group. Check the calendar page for information on the meetings plus a map. If you need further directions, please call or email Stevie Organizing Services, Inc. Visit the Meetup Group information at www.meetup.com/Decluttering-Support-Group. RSVP’s are always appreciated because on occasion, due to an unforeseen schedule change at the church, the meeting may have to be moved or the location changed. We don’t want you to show up and not be able to find the group. Please call or email if you are planning on attending. Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month from 7 to 9 PM at Hope Community Church 821 Buck Jones Road, Raleigh Call or Email S.O.S. today with questions or for further information. 919-345-2846
