1. Live in the present moment. Don't dwell in the past. There's
nothing you can do about it. Stop saying "I might need it because I'll
get back to it again some day." Look to the future instead.
2. One in - one out! When you buy one thing, get rid of one thing.
3. Convenience plays a huge part in getting organized. If you have to
move four boxes to get to the thing you need, you know it doesn't get
done. Make it convenient and you're more likely to do it.
4. Donate unwanted, unused, and unloved items to charity. You are
helping an organization raise money, you are helping others who may need
the item and you won't have to take care of it anymore.
5. Remove your name from mailing lists, calling lists and catalog
lists. Stop the junk mail before it even gets to your mailbox.
6. You will never again look at 80% of the papers you are filing
away. Can you find the information you are storing on the Internet?
Then you don't need to save it.
7. Take one step toward the vision of what you want your life to look
like. No matter how small a step, you'll be that much closer to your
goal. Small changes often make a big difference. Don't forget to
reward yourself all along the way.
